Dubai Police has launched its annual anti-begging campaign to prevent organized begging scams:

  • 384 beggars were arrested in 2024.

  • Those caught begging face up to 3 months in jail and a 5,000 AED fine.

  • Running a begging network or bringing beggars from abroad can result in 6 months in jail and a 10,000 AED fine.

  • Unauthorized fundraising without a permit can result in fines up to 500,000 AED.

Authorities advise the public to donate only through registered charity organizations to ensure that funds reach genuine causes.

5. Tragic Road Accident in Dubai – Indian Worker Dies

An Indian national, Gurpreet Singh, tragically lost his life in a road accident in Dubai.

6. Gold Smuggling Foiled at Dubai Airport

Three passengers arriving from Dubai on February 26, 2025, were arrested in India for attempting to smuggle 700 grams of gold worth 6.1 million INR.
